Windsor valves are milled from HPB57-3 brass with an electroplate finish. The wax-filled thermostat enables hassle-free temperature control within the room by automatically closing off flow to the radiator when the room reaches the desired temperature.
Simply turn the handle right to reduce the temperature and left to increase. We suggest leaving at least two hours during a heating cycle between each setting change to feel the difference. Neither TRVs nor hot-water heating deliver instantaneous ambient temperature changes.
The valve will close at 82ºF (28ºC) when set at its maximum and at 54ºF (12ºC) when set to minimum.
Made for hydronic (hot water) installations where the pipe feeds horizontally into the valve from the wall, Windsor Corner valves use a brass compression fitting (⅝” ferrules included) and work with 1/2″ copper or PEX pipe. The valve spud is 1/2″ NPT.
Flow must be through the control valve. Out of the box, the control valve will attach to the right hand side of the radiator. It is possible to change this orientation. It’s a simple job that can be done at home, but let us know when ordering and we’ll make the change for you.
